Create the perfect coverage you need, makeup application with Chikii natural makeup.

We have flattering skin shades of natural makeup in the loose powder, and cream compact for the fairest complexion to women of colour. We can also assist you with our foundation shade finder. You are welcome to contact us if you need any help in choosing the right foundation blend for your complexion and skin type. Our multi-purpose mineral powders can be used dried, or you can tint or create a liquid foundation for the coverage you need with your organic moisturiser, oil or serum.

Makeup application  –  Dry application for a matt finish.

-Open the rotator protective sifter, close the lid, and turn the jar over. Tap the bottom of the pot with your finger, turn right side up, and open. You should find a small amount of the foundation in the lid.
-Swirl your Brush ( Kabuki or a flat top brush) in the powder, and tap the excess gently back into the lid.
-Begin applying with short, feathery, downward strokes and light circles. You want the fine hairs and pores of your skin to lay flat so brush down in the direction where your facial hair grows.
-Work in natural light to see true colours. The best way to test for the right tone is to apply it on the jawline in daylight. The colour shade should disappear if it blends perfectly with the skin.
-If you are finding it difficult to achieve a colour match, you can combine different shades to produce a perfect shade for yourself.
-Everybody is different; the correct tone will leave you looking ‘covered’ not coloured. Custom blending shades together to achieve a suitable blend is a great idea, and experimentation is the key to success.
-Wash your face before applying or testing foundation shades so there will be no existing product or oily residue to interfere with the appearance of the new makeup.
-You only need to apply one layer of powder to create a perfect finish, but for some of us, you may need to conceal. To conceal, apply densely with a fine brush, this is especially good for areas under the eyes and hiding large pores.
-Always apply minerals in thin layers, two is usually sufficient.
-Make sure your moisturiser has absorbed before you use mineral powder.
-Don’t load too much onto the brush at once; a little goes a long way.
-Always tap your brush on the side of the lid or jar to remove excess powder. This will prevent you from applying too much powder and getting a dry or chalky look.

Makeup application – Make your own tinted moisturiser for a light dewy finish.

You can choose your facial oil or serum to go with your foundation powder. For more coverage, use a little more powder, or for a lighter finish use less powder.
Open the rotator protective sifter, close the lid, and turn the jar over. Tap the bottom of the jar with your finger, turn right side up, and open. You should find a small amount of the foundation in the lid.
Mix a pea size amount of foundation with 1-2 pumps of your favourite oil or serum and mix together in the palms of your hands, then apply to your face and neck until blended in.

Makeup Application – Make your own liquid foundation or cream foundation.

For skin types that are dry, your powder foundation can be blended with your moisturiser to create a cream or liquid foundation.
-Open the rotator protective sifter, close the lid, and turn the jar over. Tap the bottom of the pot with your finger, turn right side up, and open. You should find a small amount of the foundation in the lid.
-Add a pea-sized amount to your moisturiser and blend together to a creamy consistency. Apply with a makeup sponge.
-If your skin is very dry you can put a drop of your favourite facial oil onto your fine brush and conceal over those dry, flaky areas with your powder.
-For ladies that have mature skin, we have a range of Chikii vegan cream mineral foundations which contain moisturising organic ingredients, this formula is very easy to apply using the makeup sponge,  and then buffing with a Kabuki or flat top brush.

Other makeup application tips.

-The purpose of our Chikii mineral makeup is to cover, not colour skin.
-An additional layer of foundation powder to cover blemishes or rosacea can be a very effective way to conceal. Remember, half to one shade lighter to conceal shadows (under eye or nose to mouth) and a half to one shade darker to conceal blemishes.
-For dry skin, you can spritz a little skin hydrator or organic toner on top. This will re-hydrate your skin and correct a dry or flaky look. You will minimise the appearance of large pores if you mist with the organic toner, and then use a  brush to lightly smooth your makeup in a downward motion.
-Chikii makeup can be added to an organic body cream for an all-over body sparkle. For glittery hair gel, Chikii mineral face powders can be dry dusted into the hair and then set with hair spray.
